The 2012 Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster might be ordered from June 1, 2011, with all the marketplace launch set for autumn, in the price of EUR195,160.
The open-top super sports car that lost its gullwing doorways are going to be created in the biggest Mercedes-Benz creation plant in Sindelfingen. The AMG six.3-liter V8 engine comes straight from the AMG motor workshop in Affalterbach, where it's hand-assembled based on the conventional "One man, 1 engine" philosophy.
The unit develops 571 horsepower and 650 Nm (479 lb.ft) of torque, mated to a even-speed dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement. A sports activities suspension with aluminum double wishbones are also among the vehicle’s important features. Finally, Mercedes-Benz says the fabric soft-top of the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster opens and closes in just eleven seconds and could be operated about the move at speeds of as much as 31 mph (50 km/h).
